Research On Modernity Of Music Magazine

Music Magazine, Proceedings of Music Research Association of Peking University, isan important magazine in modern music history of China, and has started the newjourney of editing and practicing of music magazine promoted by China’s May FourthMovement of1919.On the basis of historical data, the paper understands, explores and interprets historyfrom the perspective of modernity theory, and attempts to find some objective laws inhistory.The paper is divided into three chapters, in which Chapter One is the text study ofMusic Magazine, discussing from aspects of historical background, content combingand classification, and interpretation of modernity, Chapter Two discusses themodernity of Music Magazine in three ways including technical theory, institutionalmodel and ideology, Chapter Three is the reflection on the modernity of MusicMagazine, and analyzes its historical contribution, rationality and limitations, in orderto summarize some experience and enlightenment regarding current musicdevelopment in China.
