As a report on consecutive interpreting (CI), this dissertation, majoring onEnglish to Chinese interpreting, describes a CI task done by the author for StudyingAbroad Information Inquiry in Tongshenghu Experimental School in2013, analyzingthe speech delivered by Daniel, an expert in Anbo Co., and the questions asked byaudiences to discuss the problems in E-C consecutive interpreting and thecorresponding strategies and solutions.In reviewing the whole task, the report discusses the pre-interpreting preparationand emergencies in interpreting process. The following chapter, Case Analysis, thereport centers on the problems emerging in the interpreting process, and selectingtypical examples for further analysis in the following aspects:1) interpretation ofnumerals,2) information loss, and3) analysis of hesitation and usage of colloquialwords. The review of this task marks the importance of applying strategies ininterpreting numerals and the code of conduct in acting as a qualified interpreter. |
