A Study On Buddhism Music Of Shandong Boshan Zhengjue Temple

It has been more than two thousand years since the Buddhist was taken to China from India in Han dynasty. Despite the rise and fall several times, the major factions and the ritual music of the Buddhist is still intact at lots place of China. And it is also because the retention and the development of these factions and ritual music, making the Chinese Buddhist music culture become a valuable part of the Chinese traditional musical culture. As the flourished land of Buddhist culture in China, the region named Shandong has a long history of Buddhist culture. Buddhist music as one of the main means of transmission of Buddhist culture has an important significance in the Buddhist culture and made a good sense. So the research on Buddhist music has an important significance value for the development of the Buddhist culture and the traditional music in Shandong. So Ⅰ chose the Buddhist music of the Zhengjue temple located in Shandong Boshan as the research object of this paper. Writing this paper is divided into three chapters, the first chapter of Buddhism and Buddhist music in China, including three sections of the Chinese Buddhist history, the history of the Chinese Buddhism music and Shandong Buddhist music, demonstrates the Buddhist culture in China, including music, more than two thousand years of history gradually formed in the Buddhist culture with Chinese characteristics as well as to the far-reaching influence of Chinese traditional culture. In Chapter Ⅱ, a brief introduction of Boshan Zhengjue Buddhist temple ritual activities is given, and Buddhist rituals performed in the musical with music ontology analysis, including scores, musical structure and vocal melodies; In Chapter Ⅲ, the author given an analysis of the current moment of Boshan Zhengjue Temple Buddhist music in the point of view of "traditional" and "secular", on the one hand, the existence of "traditional" stems from the need of the Buddhist doctrine, on the other hand is influenced by traditional Buddhist ritual activities. While "secular" in the music originated from Buddhist music was introduced into China at the beginning of the affected by Chinese traditional folk music,"secular" of Buddhism music provides conditions for the spread of Buddhism culture.The author thinks that, the present research and development of the Chinese Buddhist music is imperative in the Chinese traditional music research work. Development this paper writing significance, the purpose is to clear the Buddhist music is an important means of spreading Buddhism culture, is the important power to promote the development of Buddhist culture in Shandong again, is to build an important part of Chinese traditional music.
