An Interpretation Practice Report On Simulated Speech By Foreign Minister Wang Yi At The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting

The World Economic Forum2014annual meeting was held in a small town, Davos,Swiss on January21. Every year, state personages, leaders and politicians get together todiscuss the current focus problems.At present, there are still many problems in the oral interpretation and translation ofcontents of all kinds of international conferences, and especially in the course of oralinterpretation. Therefore, the writer selects the speech of Wang Yi, the minister of foreignaffairs of China, at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting2014as the material ofsimulating the consecutive interpreting, and tries to analyze and explore the problemsencountered in the course of oral interpretation in the international conferences, take theconcrete and feasible countermeasure, and finally use the operable mode, thus makingthe mode able to guide the oral interpretation work of conference in the future and usingthe mode in the oral interpretation work of conference in the future.This paper can be divided into three parts. Chapter One: Preparation BeforeInterpretation, including preparation work before simulated conference and backgroundknowledge of World Economic Forum. Chapter Two: Theoretical Basis Of Interpretation,including a general description of interpretive theory and interpretation standards ofinterpretive theory. Chapter Three: Practice of Interpretation and Example Analysis ofInterpretation, including the influence of background knowledge on the interpretation,the influence of notes for consecutive interpreting on the interpretation, the influence ofpersonal state on the interpretation and skills to be mastered in interpretation.The interpretive theory stems from the study of the oral interpretation and thetranslation of international conference. This article takes the interpretive theory as theguiding theory, briefly expounds the interpretive theory, and adopts the common basicskills in the oral interpretation, and takes it as an example to adopt the speech of Wang Yi,the minister of foreign affairs of China, at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting2014to simulate the consecutive interpreting, analyzes the guiding role of interpretivetheory for the oral interpretation of speech in international conference according to theexample of interpretation, and uses it to verify the practicality of the countermeasure.
