Project Report On The Translation Of The Tour Commentary Of Nanning Minge Lake

China’s tourism industry has developed rapidly with the deepening of reform and opening up, the latest Annual Report of China Inbound Tourism Development shows that in2012, China is still the third most visited tourist destination in the world. Guangxi is one of the top ten areas in receiving inbound tourists. In the process of creating better international tour projects, the value of tour commentary translation receives increasing attention.This project report is about the C-E translation project of Nanning Minge Lake. It records the whole process of translation which covers pre-analysis, translation process, puzzles and client’s feedback and summary.In the case study, this report focuses on the discussion of the translation of proper names and expressions in minority culture, revolution history and expressions with Chinese features.In each case, some possible translation methods are explored.This report shows that under the guidance of Vermeer’s Skopos, priority should be taken to the purpose of the texts and the acceptability of the target audience in the translation of publicity so as to publicize the Chinese culture. It is hoped that this report can offer some valuable reference for the C-E translation of other similar tour commentaries.
