Established in2003,“Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage”, byUNESCO stated that the folklore of a culture’s intangible heritage would bereasonably protected. In2007, the cultural Uyghur storytelling,“Dastan” was addedto the “Regional Level of Intangible Cultural Heritage’s” protection list and in2008was also added to the “National Intangible Cultural Heritage’s” worldwide protectiondirectory.At present, the protection of the intangible cultural storytelling, Dastan, remainsan urgent issue. Through the use of modern technology to document and catalog thecultural significance; Methods that are currently the most frequently implementedmeans of documentation at home and abroad as the academic world continues todigitize and develop cultural heritage databases. Dealing with the current UyghurDastan heritage crisis, the development of a Uyghur Dastan database is an importantand time-sensitive task. Therefore this research topic has future prospects andpractical significances.This paper mainly focuses on the construction of the Uyghur Dastan database,through literature research, field surveys and other research methods, whilesimultaneously looking and compiling Dastan digital archives and digitizing Dastaninto categories of Uygur folk, rap, lyrical types, inheritance, classification analysis,and other cultural genres. In conclusion, the paper covers the spread of various typesof Hotan Prefecture folk Dastan that were documented in the forms of pictures, video,audio, and multilingual text classification.This thesis is divided into four parts, the first chapter is mainly an overview ofUyghur Dastan records and collects; do combing recording and dissemination ofUyghur folk Dastan, and now faces the danger do interpretation and put forward thedigital protection plan. The second chapter examines the Hotan Uyghur Dastan database; from the database design to the basic data of the preparations to the finalnetwork platformis described in detail. The third chapter mainly tells Dastan databaseconstruction problems; pointed out the practical problems faced in the process ofconstruction, in civil database. The fourth chapter is the conclusion part the authorpersonally involved in Hotan, database construction of the whole process, theexperience of this project are summarized, and the future research prospects。This dissertation is a combination of applied research and observational research.After both the field work and field data have been compiled over a long period of time,the construction can be completed. The preliminary results that are found show theresearch achievements of the current team, laying the groundwork for future researchto be pursued on this topic.
