Dastan "Mayimhan" is a historical Uyghur folk Dastan. As historical Dastan, "Mayimhan" describes the story occurred in Ili in the mid-19th century. Mayimhan is a heroine, folk singer. Mayimhan was born in 1812 in Dadamtu Township, Ghulja. She praised pure love and freedom, described her own concept of justice, fight against the tyrant ruthless in her song. In order to protect her own pure love and freedom, she fight against the authoritarian government of the Qing Dynasty in Xinjiang and corrupt local officials.1830 summer, heroine Mayimhan was beheaded by oppressive Qing government.So far, Dastan "Mayimhan" found only one version. This version was collected by Mr. Barat Kerim and edited by Mr. Ablet Abdulla. In 1989, it was published by Ghulja folklore collection office.The first chapter is overview of Dastan "Mayimhan". Firstly, briefly introduce Dastan "Mayimhan." Secondly, clarify Mayimhan’s life; Thridly explain the historical background of the social history of Dastan "Mayimhan". Finally explain Uyghur traditional wedding customs that appears in Dastan.The second chapter studies the narrative characteristics of Dastan. This chapter analysis the narrative of time, place, character and other factors.The third chapter point rhetoric feature in Dastan. It researches language use and active rhetorical in Dastan "Mayimhan".The fourth chapter analysis poetry forms in Dastan. This chapter provides in-depth research on the poetry forms, indicates rhythms, syllable terms, and the role of poetry in the Dastan.
