Benign envy stems from social comparison, individual presents a negative emotion with intentthat contains self-improvement because of the lack of advantages. Compared to anger、hostility and othernegative emotions, the motivation of benign envy and behavior consequences of which seems to be moreconstructive. Therefore, it makes negative emotions more meaningful to evolution. So far the research ofbenign envy has just begun, most results only validate its core features, but the content structure has notbeen studied. As a consequence, our country’s concern about this issue is to help us have a betterunderstanding of benign envy. What’ s more, our empirical research will also contribute to clarifying themechanism of this emotion as well as the impacts it brings.In this dissertation, I adopt document analysis, personal interviews, questionnaires and otherresearch methods, based on Chinese culture, to amend the questionnaire of the800employees indifferent companys, and discuss the related issues, and finally, I got709feedback. By using statisticaltechniques we get the following conclusions:First, the content structure of the benign envy expressed in company staffs consists of threedimensions, that is, motivation, emotional adjustment and behavioral intention. Three-factor theorymodel is well built and the reliability and validity of the questionnaire have achieved psychometricrequirements. The internal consistency coefficients of this questionnaire is0.874, each sunscale’ α vauleis0.801、0.744and0.834.Second, demographic differences of benign envy. The results showed that different genders as well as age and working years have no significant differences in abusive supervision on all dimensions.There is significant difference only in education level.Third, attributional style has a significant positively prediction effect (β=0.133, p<0.01) tobenign envy; Optimistic attribution style has a significant positive prediction effect (β=0.186, p<0.01) tobenign envy; benign envy has a significant positive predictive effect (β=0.542, p <0.001) to jobinvolvement; attributional style has a significant positively prediction effect (β=0.177, p<0.001)to jobinvolvement.Fourth, during the research on the intermediation that benign envy played between theattributional styles and the job involvement, benign envy indeed plays some intermediary role.
