| Envy is an emotion that often appears in everyone’s work and life.Regardless of the culture,most people regard envy as a negative emotion.It is true that in ancient and modern China and abroad,personal envy has caused countless tragedies,but some scholars have discovered that non-hostile envy can be a source of inspiration,and have put forward a classification of envy and the view of dividing envy.Benign envy and malicious envy.Benign envy stimulates people to improve themselves in order to get what they want.Therefore,people who experience benign envy tend to show good behavior.This has certain enlightenment for enterprises to improve the human resource management system and create a good corporate culture atmosphere.Business managers can make good use of employees’ envy to stimulate their work enthusiasm and motivation,so that employees can produce innovative behaviors.In this paper,from the perspective of envy classification and self-determination theory as the theoretical basis,this paper constructs a structural equation model that takes benign envy in the workplace as a prerequisite variable and employees’ innovative behavior as a variable.,Internal motivation as a mediating variable,and core self-assessment as a mediating variable.The mediation model is suitable for exploring the influence mechanism of benign envy in the workplace on the behavior of innovative employees.In the past,most studies on envy focused on the field of psychology,and they paid more attention to the antecedent variables of envy.In recent years,employee envy in the workplace has gradually attracted the attention of domestic scholars in related fields,but most scholars still The focus is on the negative effects of envy,and a certain degree of empirical research has been conducted on it.But recently,more and more scholars have discovered that envy may have a positive effect,but most of them only stay at the level of conjecture and hypothesis,without further experiments and data analysis.This article combs the previous scholars’ research on workplace envy,and on this basis defines the definition and concept of workplace benign envy,and elaborates on the process of the role of workplace benign envy on internal motivations and employees’ innovative behaviors,as well as the core self-evaluation in it.The role of boundary adjustment,and the foreign maturity scale was selected to measure the workplace benign envy,internal motivation,employee innovation behavior and core self-evaluation,through factor analysis,reliability and validity analysis,structural equation modeling,repeated sampling and potential adjustment structure And other empirical methods have verified the measurement model and theoretical hypothesis.This article enriches the research perspectives on workplace envy and confirms other scholars’ conjectures about the positive effects of workplace envy.In this study,a total of 275 valid questionnaires were collected through online and offline methods.Through research and analysis,it is found that benign envy in the workplace actively promotes the innovative behavior of employees.Benign envy towards the workplace will positively affect internal motivations,thereby promoting innovative behaviors of employees.It acts as an intermediary to the benign envy and innovative employee behavior in the workplace;basic self-evaluation actively regulates the relationship between the benign envy in the workplace and the internal motivation and innovative behavior of employees.Core self-assessment also actively regulates internal motivation.The mediating role of employees’ innovative behaviors.The above research results have certain reference significance for the study of envy behavior and the practice of enterprise human resource management. |
