Itbegins with Qiao Dianyun’s tough life experience. Then the thesis analyses the spiritual meanings of hisnovels, thus makes a deep and unique thought of vintage farmers and civilian psychology in new era.Except the introduction and conclusion, this thesis is divided into three chapters.Chapter1: This part introduces his spiritual core to penetrate everything as a peasant philosopher bythe elaboration of Qiao Dianyun’s tough life experience and spiritual suffering as well as his anneal in soulwith the help of Destiny.Chapter2: Qiao Dianyun not only “digging deep into it’s essence”(penetrating the essence of life) indaily life but also “observing it beyond its boundaries”(reaching spiritual roots) in novel creation. Thischapter analyzes civilian psychology in his novels in detail in four main aspects, which are servility andbureaucracy nature, the restriction of morality to humanity, evil psychology of the community and spiritualconfusion of modernization. Based on the inheritance of “Lu Xunstyle”, Qiao Dianyun has his own understanding of vintage farmers and civilian culture psychology in theinterim. His creation is an expression of his view on civilian characters in the transition period.
