The report is about the practical experience of translating an American child literatureFlipped (Chapter5and Chapter6) from English to Chinese. The author reviews the translationprocess by adopting the method of the introspection, making reference to other works and thecombination of theory and practice. Based on an analysis of the characteristics of the context, thereport attempts to find out corresponding translation strategies and methods, aiming at exploringways to improve the translation quality of child literature and the ability of translators.What’s more, the report concentrates on exploring the following tasks: making goodpreparation; tackling the problems and difficulties encountered during the practice.This translation of young adult fiction requires the translators to possess some qualities andmake use of translation strategies and methods to improve the translation and to meet the needsof the reader.Through the practice, translator knows the young adult fiction better so as to improvetranslation ability.
