Application Of Fuzzy Strategy In Consecutive Interpretation

The characteristics of interpretation determine that some details of language are hard to bepaid much attention to. Fuzzy strategy is a wise choice and useful skill to reduce the loss ofinformation, lighten interpreter’s load and increase interpreting efficiency. Under theguidance of fuzzy translation theory, this study will try to deploy the implementation of fuzzytheory’s pragmatic function as an interpreting skill and discuss how to bring interpreter’ssubjective initiative into full play. For interpretation, we often choose the fuzzy strategy onthe fuzzy translation theory. Detailed analysis of examples on how to use the fuzzy strategy ininterpretation is also provided in order to study the specific application of fuzzy strategy inconsecutive interpreting. Case-study methods are used in this paper to divide all situationsthat fuzzy strategy is suitable to be used into7types. Every type is illustrated specifically.The Fuzzy Strategy is a practical interpreting skill, handy for interpreters. Because they needto respond fast as the speakers will only say once, and meanwhile, they have to be able toconvey the main ideas of the speakers so as to assure the smoothly running of theinterpretation, for which an application of the Fuzzy Expression Strategy is absolutelynecessary. However, it is essential to know how to apply the Fuzzy Expression Strategy betterin the interpretation scenes, and avoid the over and insufficient interpretation in the process ofthe application of the Fuzzy Expression Strategy. Finally, interpreters should take control ofinterpretation quality, which need more scholars to work together for the further studies.
