A Report On A Consecutive Interpretation Of English Interviews Based On Skopos Theory By German Functionalist School

This simulative interpretation report is based on the interviews with Mark Van Rjimenam about Think Bigger,Block Chain and Mitchel Resnick about Lifelong Kindergarten,the main topics referred in the interviews are big data analytics,block chain,AI,4P theory which are included in these books above.This report lists the difficulties the interpreter encountered and strategies adopted correspondingly as the interviews feature with informality,randomness,colloquialism,and with the guidance of Skopos Theory in the interpreting process.In the report,the difficulties occurred and the strategies applied accordingly are introduced in three parts:first,logic problems which contain scattered and missing information,unclear reference and repeat addressed by addition,omission and restoration;second,fuzzy expressions which include abstract and fuzzy expressions as well as additives settled by fuzzy and clear expressions in target language;third,zero equivalent vocabulary which can be solved by referring the original form in source language and the background.This report not only stands as the test of the level of myself(namely,the interpreter),but also a case analysis of the consecutive interpretation of English interviews with the guidance of Skopos Theory that can be a reference in similar interpreting occasions.
