Houli culture is an archaeological culture of Neolithic medium term in Haidai region, which is aiso currently seen as the earliest of Haidai Neolithic culture. Because of less material published, research on chronology and native types of Houli culture is lack of comprehensive and comprehensive discussion. Research on environment, settlement pattern and subsistence economy also faces great difficulties in microscopic research because there is no framework of space and time to support. Traditionally, sduty on communication with other archaeological culture is popular but its achievements need to be reviewed. The purpose of this paper is on the various aspects of space-time frame, environment, settlement pattern, subsistence economy, origin and fate of Houli culture to make a comprehensive, integrated research and understanding in some depth on the basis of fomer study.Thesis can be divided into five parts:The first is the introduction to introduce a brief history of research, theory and method used herein.Followed by the space-time framework of Houli culture. Based on Typical typical sites and artifacts, using theoretical methods of stratigraphy and typology Houli culture can be divided into eight phases, three stages. Following a review of the use of14C dating, calibrated by OxCal v4.2with dates that half-life is5568years, we speculate the absolute age of Houli culture is9000-7300a BP. Based on the differences, Houli culture is divided into Lubei type determined and Luzhongnan type yet need to be confirmed, and Yuezhuang site is close with the latter. The third part, social archeology research on Houli culture, includes natural environment, settlement patterns and the subsistence economy. First, the recovery of climate, topography and other hydrological is carried out, noting the error in chronology of The Quaternary environmental research, while paying attention to the sites itself which have environmental archaeological research done. Settlement archeology, from the microscopic households, villages and macro region was analyzed. Annular partition function mode was proposed in households of Xiaojingshan and Xihe sites which can roughly divided into fireplace, hearth operating area, activity area, a storage compartment area, the channel and sleeping areas. Migration of residential areas was found in Xiaojingshan and Xihe sites which can help us to understand the distribution and size of the Houli culture sites. In medium term, many sites are distributed in Xiaoqinghe River Basin as equally spaced pattern, indicating a more equal relationship between settlements. Finally, evaluate the extent of agricultural development. From aspects both external pressures and internal adaptation, we figure that Houli culture subsistence is dominated by unproductive economy. Their livelihoods model has gone from "broad-spectrum mode "to" professional broad-spectrum mode", and become "inverse broad-spectrum mode" finally. Environmental changes and technological advances may be the reason for the livelihoods of paradigm shift. Yuezhuang and Xihe sites are taken for example to study the pottery making techniques, focusing on the use of its polished technique. The fourth part is the origin and fate of Houli culture. Remains of Huangya kind should be the origin of the Houli culture, but how to reach north of TaiYishan region remaining questions. In the end, Houli culture transforms into Beixin culture. The eastward of Peiligang culture Jiahu type is related to the transition of Houli culture to Beixin culture. The fifth part of the thesis summarizes content and viewpoints, and make the prospect of future study of Houli culture.
