An Analysis On The Characteristics Of Liu Xue’an’s Song And The Performence Of The Singing Style

Liu Xue’an is a famous musician, composer and educationist in China. He explores the world of music and has created many famous songs. He also makes some contributions to the instrumental music, vocal music and musical literature. He pays attention to combine Chinese traditional music with western theories in his works. His vocal music contains various forms, such as mass songs, art songs, film and drama songs. In his works, some describes heroic scenes with soldiers killing enenmies; some describes sadness during the time of troubles; some describes the love of man and woman and some describes the happiness of farmers that they became their own owners. Although he has a little works, his masterpieces are valuable for the inheritance of Chinese traditional music.This paper aims to talk about how to understand and express the artistic conceptions of Liu Xue’an’s works and improve the vocal music performence by researching the characteristic and managment of singing style of his songs.
