| Both language and the vocabulary are in motion. Dynamic is an everlasting existence of language. It is an important rule in Chinese development for Chinese vocabulary to change from one syllable to multisyllable. This paper aims to analyze the dynamic change of Chinese vocabulary polysyllabic words. To reach this end, a combination of the synchronic and diachronic research methods is adopted. Besides, it probes into the literature concerning this issue from the old to modern times, combining theory and corpus. From the macro and micro perspectives, this paper analyzes, step by step, the changing pattern and reason of the modern Chinese vocabulary polysyllabic words, and its influence. This study highlights the importance of dynamic research to Chinese ontological study. The author suggests that to view the change of vocabulary, the vision of development is preferred. |
