This translation project is organized by School of Foreign languages, SichuanNormal University, with the educational book, Testing for Language Teachers, as thetranslation materials. There are9students participating in this project. Based onanalyzing the Chinese translation of Chapter10and Chapter11, the translationresearch report is brought up.My individual tasks include two chapters: testing oral ability and testing reading. Before translating, I have done much preparation, such as, analyzing the sourcelanguage text, classifying the text type, summarizing the requirements that the translatoris supposed to have, and so on. Upon this, the translation should meet the followingstandards: consistency, accuracy, cohesiveness and clarity. To reach these requiredstandards, some skills and strategies are adopted and some examples are cited to supportthese arguments. In the end, some experienced deficiencies that I have learnt during thetranslation project will be listed. There is rarely systematic study on educational monograph translation in theacademic circles. Study on the translation is guided by text type theory. Sometranslation standards for this sort of type will be summarized and some methods andskills will be listed, with the hope to provide some reference for educational monographtranslation.
