In recent years, with fruitful academic achievements at home and abroad, academic proceedings have provided a great way for spreading academic information.Thus,E-C translation of academic proceedings is important for domestic scholars to introduce the latest academic thoughts from western academia. However, the existing studies of academic proceedings translation are only limited to term translation, the history of academic works translation and so forth.Although scholars have taken other areas as their academic translation research subjects, such as natural science and philosophy, they conduct few studies of academic proceedings translation related to applied linguistics. This report is based on the whole translation process and the Chinese translation of the two papers excerpted from an academic proceeding Translation in Foreign Language Teaching and Testing.By utilizing the research methods of literature review, comparison and case analysis, the author analyzes and summaries the translation process and translation act of the source text. The practice study focuses on analyzing Peter Newmark's text typology and the corresponding translation strategies that have been applied to the translation process of this academic proceeding from the aspects of lexicon, syntax and discourse.Additionally, the source text is the collection of original papers written by veteran professors and linguists in German universities, which is translated into Chinese for the first time by the author with a view to providing reference for academic proceedings translation of the same category. Also, the report is designed to arouse translation researchers' attention to English academic proceedings translation and then enrich relevant studies.
