Abstract Vocational self-concept of college students is crucial to the employmentof college students.The existing studies have shown that family factors and coping stylefactors affect college students vocational self-concept, but it remains to be furtherstudied relationships and mechanisms between the three of above. This study researched886college students in Chengdu and Harbin using family environment scale,copingscale and vocational self-concept scale.It is analysed by family environment,copingstyle,general characteristics of vocational self-concept, the difference situation,relevantrelationship, regression and mediating.The results have found:(1) Students’ scores on the various dimensions of the family environment scale aregenerally higher. There are differences in some dimensions of the family environmentscale. The differences are about gender, profession, place and year of the collegestudents.(2) The choice of coping style of college students most will choose the positivestyle. On the contrary, it fewer will choose the passive style. Students’ scores indescending order in the selection and use of coping styles of each factor is: problemsolvingâ†'helpâ†'retreatâ†'fantasyâ†'rationalizationâ†'remorse. There are somedifferences of the choice of the coping style in gender,profession,place and year ofcollege students.(3) College students in vocational self-concept of the five factor scores arehigh,more than the average3. The score of the five factors from high to low is:objective self> career personalized self> occupation extrinsic self> career networkingself> career information self.(4) Students in the family environment, coping style and vocational self-concept are linked.(5) Family environment scale of the organization,entertainment and success factorfor vocational self-concept has a significant positive predictor, and the ability to predictcollege vocational self-concept scores are12.6%of the variance.(6) Coping Scale of problem-solving, self-blame and fantasy factor foroccupational self-concept have a significant forecasting role, and the ability to predictcollege vocational self-concept scores are14.3%of the variance.(7) Coping styles of the various dimensions for the family environment can predictsome dimensions.(8) Solving problems, help and other positive ways for some dimensions betweenthe family environment and vocational self-concept plays a role in part of theintermediary.(9) Problem solving factors mediating effect between knowledge, entertainment,controlling and self-concept is better than the help factors mediating effect.
