A Research On The Textual Function Of The Adverb "daodi"(到底)

The adverb "daodi" is widely used in spoken Chinese, but there’s no researches on its textualfunctions yet. Through the description and comparison, this paper tries to investigate itstextual functions，combined with its syntactic semantic features.The first chapter is the introduction part,the main content is the selected topicsignificance and the research status of the textual function about modern Chinese, the adverb,and "daodi".The second chapter focuses on the semantics of "daodi", which has3meaning,accordingly we marked them as "daodi1"”daodi〗"”daodb". And on this basis, we respectivelysummarize its structure mode. In addition, we make a simple semantics comparison of the"d"aodi"i and”zhongji"u(终究)，”daodi2"and "bijing"(毕竟)，"daodi3”and jiujing’，(究竟)，The third chapter is mainly about the syntactic characteristics of "daodi", about theposition they appeared, the compositions followed by and its constraints, as well as thedistribution of sentence category.The fourth chapter is the textual cohesion function of "daodi", the cohesion in discourse,the location, distribution and its translocation, cohesion and textual function.The fifth chapter inspects grammatica1ization mechanisms and processes of "daodi".The sixth chapter is a full text summary and the content which we need continue to studyin the future.
