The Chinese Folk Culture Inheritance And Innovation In Graphic Design

As the base culture derived from the masses, Chinese folk culture covers all fields of people’s daily life and it has profound influence on people’s production and living, both physically and psychologically as presented by national culture. Even nowadays the science and technology is developed, the essence of Chinese folk culture is of guidance to the life of modern people. However, the development of many excellent folk cultures is in downturns. It is an urgent and important task as to how to inherit and protect traditional folk culture that is running off gradually.Starting with the relation between Chinese folk culture and modern graphic design, this paper analyzes the influence of Chinese folk culture on modern graphic design and the role in traditional folk culture. Moreover, it combines "the24solar terms" in traditional Chinese folk customs and attempts to design with modern graphic design language, expecting to enhance the modern youngsters’awareness of traditional Chinese folk culture so as to promote the young’s consciousness of inheriting, protecting and developing folk culture.
