Musical is one of the drama genres which originated in Britain in the late19th century. It combined with music, dance and drama, and is a new integrated stagecraft. In the rendition of the musical, a considerable part of the art of singing is taking an example by the voice concepts and vocal methods in the traditional vocality. In fact, it is traditional vocal ity which lay a foundation for the singing methods of musical. Then, what is the difference between traditional singing methods and musical rendition in their characteristic’s aspect? And how does traditional singing methods used in musicals? These are the issues which mainly discussed by the writer in this article.This text will divide into two chapters. The first chapter is going to analyze the voice concepts, singing methods and singing characteristics around the relations between musical rendition and traditional singing methods. In the second chapter the author is trying to explore the difference between musical rendition and traditional singing methods and how to put these into use by combining the analysis of specific singing practice.
