| The musical singing mode of musical established by music can be categorized into three types: 1. the classic timbre evolved gradually from opera and light opera.(Classic)(Exaggerated, resounding, and vigorous heroism timbre). 2.“Speech singing voice ”combining classic timbre and pop timbre.(natural, delicate and lyric timbre) 3. The "pure sound"(Belt)timbre by means of screaming and yelling matched by the breath support. It is a kind of expressionism with direct presentation and rich emotions.Musical voice singing is for the purpose of role shaping instead of simple singing. So for different roles, different methods of sound production should be used to adjust the application of timbre. If there is any mistake when using the timbre, audience would think the role shaping is inaccurate because the timbre decides the role's image, personal character, figure's status and level of education. The timbre decides the singing style, presents social cultures and reflects the time background of the society. Accurately using the timbre and the place of sound production can make the role more precise and vivid. When learning to sing musicals, it is more important to master different timbres. For the performance of musicals, this is not only the most effective method to shape roles but also the best way to touch the audience?Until now musical performers are still exploring what can be called the real method of musical singing and what can be considered as the timbre required in musicals. Some musical performers' timbre is inclines to the timbre in“bel canto“, so can this timbre be also regarded as the musical timbre? Some other musical performers' timbre is tending to be folk, popular and rock, are these also timbres in musicals acting? In our traditional vocal music teaching, have we considered trainings specific on students' timbres?The singing timbre in musicals is the expression of musicals, and it has significant impact on the establishment of the singing style of musicals. |
