Zeng Yong Qing is a second generation representative of the renowned "Four Masters",Chinese Bamboo Flute performer and educator of the20th Century during the50s. He is also the pioneer batch of conservatory-styled musician after the founding of the People’s Republic of China. His performing and compositional style is greatly influenced by his background and understanding of Traditional Chinese music, incorporating the theoretical music knowledge gained during his Conservatory days, exploring and having a breakthrough in his compositions. As an educator, he has produced numerous outstanding young Bamboo Flute talents throughout the years.This paper analyze and summarize the art of Zeng Yong Qing’s Bamboo Flute by understanding his musical background, performing and compositional style, his contribution to the development of this art and an analysis of 《Qin Chuan Qing》 to provide an insight to the value and meaning of his music.
