Time Expression Study Of Qi Lu Deng

Qi lu deng was completed in Qian-Long period, and it was written in bothClassical Chinese which is easy to interpret and Vernacular Chinese which is close toModern Chinese. The corpus of this article is basing on the version of Qi lu deng, Thisthesis gives an analysis on linguistic expression of the development of the time pointand period in Zhongyuan mandarin’s expression from early modern times to moderntimes; adding materials of linguistic study on that time; comparing between Zhongyuanmandarin of the day and of now. The analysis works over the point and period in thebook through the following ways:Quantitative statistics and qualitative analysis.Detailed synchronic description of feature and aspect of time expression in thebook.Preliminary reconstruction of Zhongyuan Mandarin’s basic aspect in Qian-Longperiod, Qing dynasty.This thesis is made up of six-parts:Chapter1is an introduction. It introduces research significance, current researchsituation, and research method. It also gives the writer’s criteria when it comes to acceptand object materials, and an introduction of the related terms.Chapter2indicates the expression of time point of Qi lu deng. This chapter depictsthe time-point expression in two different patterns which are phraseology and tablestructure. The depiction of time-point phraseology is developed into two aspects:complex tone and monosyllabic time-point word. This chapter also gives indication oftable structure of the table point in the book, according to the structural characteristicsof its structure by evaluating in its quantified, paratactic, prepositional, modifyingdisyllabic, and directional words.Chapter3indicates the expression of time period of Qi lu deng. it depicts thetime-period expression in two different patterns which are, same as before, phraseologyand table structure. It gives examination on time-period phraseology in long time period,short time period, approximate times and definite time words. Chapter4works on the expression of enquiring time in the book. In this chapter, itoffers introduction of how to ask time in different categories by taking examplesentences from the book.Chapter5is a comparison on the different ways of time expression in Zhongyuanmandarin. Basing on the dialectal difference between Zhongyuan mandarin andZhoukou dialect from the collection of the book Comprehensive Dictionary of RegionalDialects of Modern Chinese, this chapter draws conclusion on the variety betweenZhongyuan mandarin from Qi lu deng and that of mandarin of now. It emphasizes thedifference among core time phraseologies like today, tomorrow, morning, noon, andevening time.Chapter6is conclusion. It sums up the main points of this thesis.
