With the mandarin fever gradually grown all over the world. More and moreforeigner have chose Chinese to learn. However, few of them can speak fluent mandarin.According to survey report that a majority of speakers were occupied by native Englishspeaker and most of them are (Talk Da Talk Chinese). As the basic step of teachingChinese for foreign learner, the phonetic teaching has ranked the top important stage. Atthe same time it is also an important prerequisite for training four skills which isspeaking, listening, reading and writing as well as social skills. Because of huge languagesystem difference between Chinese and English, there must be a negative transfer ofnative language when they learn other foreign languages. Furthermore they may mademistake when they learned initial, finals and tones of Chinese. that is the great obstaclefor European and American students.According to the situation of teaching thesis will be divided into four sections. Thefirst chapter of the thesis elaborate the using of contrastive analysis theory and erroranalysis theory on phonetic teaching. The second chapter analyze the difference betweenvowel of English and Chinese as well as the errors that made by foreign students.Moreover, I also formulate the teaching strategy and teaching methods. The third chaptermak a comparison between the consonant of Chinese and English. And analyze the errorand set up with detail solutions.In the second and third chapter of thesis mainly analyze how to learn the phoneticstheory of Chinese and the skills of initial and final. In the last chapter make a comparisonwith the tones of Chinese and the intonation of English.That has a great influence forfuture teaching.In this thesis, I will take it as a goal and put forward with the scientificteaching method for future studying.
