The Time Recording System is unique in ancient China, which is an importantpart of ancient traditional culture. The Time Recording System is also includes richlanguage and traditional culture. Paper first discusses the words of Qin and HanDynasties’ time recording, including cited literature reviews and proposed paperfocuses. Secondly, to make an overview on the ancient Chinese concept of time,which contains the ways to record years, the ways to record months, the ways torecord days, and so on. Documents unearthed in the center, supported by the literaturehanded down classics, contemporary critical theory related to the History of Scienceand Technology of China research. Collate the literature data. Through the pooledanalysis of the above information, draw major the name of time division of Qin andHan. These names are generated in different time periods division method. On thebasis of the discussion on the division of time, the time system is divided into twelve,sixteen, and other times. Analyzes the common name in the unearthed documents andhanded down literature. Finally, summarizing the name of time division of Qin andHan explored the naming convention.The theoretical and practical significance of the study lies on Chinese Philology.It can further clarify the meaning of the name, found naming rules, providing moreconvenient reference for the name of time division research. At the same time, want tobe able to provide valuable reference to methods of modern society and the textualrepresentation of the measurement time. The innovation of this paper is tosystematically combing the literature on the basic vocabulary of the Qin and Han’stime division.
