Reseacrh On Colloquial Words In Jinghuayuan

Jinghuayuan, completed by Qing Dynasty writer Li ru zhen after more than30years of painstaking efforts, is a famous literary classics handed down. It, has beenabout200years since its birth, appeared on the eve of the Opium War when Chineseclassical novels had been in decline. It reflects the whole Chinese society and history onthe eve of the Opium War. The academic research on Jinghuayuan has more focusedon literary level, less emphasized on its language. This thesis makes research onthe Chinese Colloquial words in Jinghuayuan and makes a preliminary study on theevolution and development of the Chinese Colloquial words.First of all, this thesis summarizes the results of research on Jinghuayuan from theaspects of vocabulary, grammar, etc and discusses the research value of the colloquialwords in Jinghuayuan.Secondly, this thesis clearly defines the colloquial words and, as a standard,describes the colloquial words in Jinghuayuan. Under the guidance of the theories, thisthesis makes a detailed explanation and case study of some representative colloquialwords in Jinghuayuan from the four aspects of part of speech, syllable structure, themeaning of a word, word group respectively.Thirdly, this thesis illustrates some two-syllable and four-syllable sayings inJinghuayuan.Finally, combined with Great Chinese Dictionary, this thesis summarily analyzesthe colloquial words and new meanings in Jinghuayuan, explains the situations of thecolloquial words in terms of including, defining and exemplifying in Jinghuayuan andpoints out the shortages.
