Vegetation is of great significance to human being for humans cannot live and develop without vegetation, but excessive use of vegetation has led to its severe damages. Therefore studying vegetation to achieve the sustainable use of vegetation is a very urgent matter. This thesis discusses the translation practice of National Vegetation Classification Standard. This item is of79672words, and the author selects10000words to translate and accomplish the work in a certain time.The thesis consists of four parts. The first part mainly describes the background and significance of this report, unique features of English for Science and Technology(EST) and EST translation (specifically Biologic English for Science and Technology). The second part describes the process of the translation, including the pre-translational analysis and preparation, translating and then proofreading after the translating. The third part, as the major part of the thesis, analyzes the difficulties and strategies thereof in the process of translation under the guidance of Tytler’s Three Principles. The last part analyzes and summarizes the defects during the translation practice and inspiration from this practice.Based on this translation practice and analysis of the translation procedures, the author tries to summarize the translation strategies and methods of Biologic English for Science and Technology, hoping to provide some beneficial reference for the research and practice of the translation of this kind.
