A Study On Rhetoric In Russian-Chinese Science And Technology Translation

With the in-depth development of global economic integration and the rapid development of science and technology,Russian-Chinese scientific translation as a platform and bridge for economic and technological cooperation and communication will receive special attention from researchers.Scientific and technological translation is inseparable from rhetoric,and rhetoric is always one of the important factors that determines the use of language.Studying the rhetorical issues in Russian-Chinese scientific and technological translation helps us better understand the text content,know the text structure more clearly,and grasp the "form" and "spirit" of the text as a whole.Mainly from the perspective of combining theory with practice,this thesis uses the methods of literature research and systematic induction and so on to and systematicly analyze the definition of rhetoric,the function of rhetoric(Definition function,Classification function,Description function,Instruction function,Statement function),the relationship between rhetoric and scientific and technological translation,Halliday's functional stylistic theory and rhetoric in scientific and technological translation,the feature of vocabulary rhetoric(Scienctific and technological terms,Prepositions,Conjunctions,Pronouns)and grammatical rhetoric(Nominalization of verbs and adjectives,Binomial passive voice,Grammatical structure of static words,Complex simple sentences,Compound sentences,Non-ellipsis sentences)in Russian scientific and technological texts,the rhetorical principles(Science popularization,Simplicity,Figurativeness,Accuracy)and rhetorical methods(Metaphor,Personification,Hyperbole,Epithet,Antithesis,Parallelism)and other issues in Russian-Chinese scientific and technological translation based on modern linguistic achievements.Through analyzing exzamples of Russian-Chinese scientific and technological translation,this thesis aims to highlight the important role of rhetoric in science and technology Russian and attempts to build a rhetorical system of Russian-Chinese scientific and technological translation.The research on rhetoric in science and technology translation helps to enrich translation theories and practices,expand the research horizon of scientific and technological translation,bring methodological enlightenment to other researchers,increase the attention of translators in scientific and technological translation on relevant research issues,and promote and strengthen communication and exchange of science and technology translation talents in the field of Chinese and Russian science and technology.
