Quantifiers are used to express the unit of people, objects or action, and is an important part of Chinese content word category. Quantifiers exist both in Chinese and Korean languages, as those two languages are both the part of characters cultural circle. There are two groups of quantifiers:quantifiers that have equivalents in both languanges and quantifiers used exclusively in Chinese or Korean. That is why it is easy for Korean students to learn those quantifiers common in both languages, and is still hard to understand the meaning and usage of quantifiers that don’t have equivalents in Korean langauge. Korean quantifiers often interfere with learning prosess of Chinese quantifiers, they also cause lots of errors in using the last. Using the official standart HSK vocabulary for Chinese learners as an object of this study, we found that130quantifiers are included into 《Chinese language vocabulary and Chinese characters grading syllabus》, in order to help Korean students memorize and properly use Chinese quantifiers all of them were divided into two groups:quantifiers that have equivalents in both languanges and quantifiers that don’t. The main content of this thesis is the research on Chinese quantifiers and the comparative analysis of Chinese and Korean quantifiers. The comparative analysis of Chinese and Korean quantifiers mainly concentrates on differences and similarities between the quantifiers that have equivalents in both languages, as for those quantifiers that don’t have equivalents in Chinese language, the research mainly concentrates on analysing the unfavourable factors of Korean language interfering with learning Chinese quantifiers and give multiple examples for better explanation. This thesis also summarizes the types of errors made by Korean students using Chinese quantifiers, analyses the causes of those errors and suggests some countermeasures supported by multiple examples and explanations. We hope that the suggested teaching method can help Korean students to better understand the usage of Chinese quantifiers.
