Career exploration refers to the process during which individuals constantly coordinate therelation between self-development and reality through self-and environmental exploration underthe guidance of certain belief and attitude, thus obtaining career objectives. It is the main routefor individuals to obtain career roles. University students are on the initial stage of careerexploration. With the increasing fierce competition, university students are facing more and morepressure when choosing career and working, and the employment situation is not optimistic. Howto solve the problem of university student employment has become a hot social problem. Weshould not only need government provides corresponding policies and measures, but improvecareer decision-making ability of each university student. As representative subjective factors ofindividuals, personality and self-efficacy have significant influence over career exploration.Therefore, from the perspective of career exploration, this research discusses the current overallsituation of university student career exploration in China by carrying out questionnaire survey to305university students in Dalian, analyzing the feature of career exploration and investigatingthe relationships among proactive personality, career self-efficacy and career exploration.Therefore, our research can provide certain decision reference for higher institutions. At the sametime, it can also offer the scientific basis for schools to provide specific career guidance forstudents. In this way, university students can improve their self-efficacy when making careerdecisions, and they can better understand and improve their ability in career exploration, thusstrengthening their confidence when choosing career.This research adopts the combinated method of literature review and questionnaire, taking400students in four different grades as the random samples to conduct the questionnaire survey.It takes advantages of the SPSS17.0to do the difference test, the correlation analysis and theregression analysis. Then the conclusions come out as following:1. The total score and each dimension score of college students career exploration differlittle on sex, professional types and family environment, while objective exploration andself-exploration differs much on grades, the highest score of objective exploration is senior, andfreshman has the highest score of self-exploration.2. College students’ proactive personalities have significant positive correlation with the career exploration. The total score of proactive personalities is higher, the higher level of thecareer exploration. Proactive personality and occupation self-efficacy are positively related ineach dimension. The amount of proactive personalities is higher, the higher level of theoccupation self-efficacy.3. The total score and each dimension score of occupation self-efficacy have significantpositive correlations with career exploration total score and dimensions. The careerdecision-making self-efficacy level is higher, the higher level of his career exploration.4. College students proactive personality and occupation self-efficacy have predicted effectson career exploration.5. Occupation self-efficacy is a partial mediation between the proactive personality andoccupation self-efficacy.
