The Study On Zizek’s Ideology Critical Theory

The discussion on ideology has been unfolding from the18th century which ended in the1990’s. Zizek was the representation of Lacan school. He used Lacan’s psychoanalytic theory as a tool to have an another round of criticism on ideology, which made the critical theory of ideology reach a fresh start.Zizek made a view of the development of the history by the way of analogy with Hegel classifying religious and divided ideology into three parts:Ease(as the idea form compound body), self(as the form of matter) and ease and self(spontaneously formed inner experience).The present ideology is the ideology of ease and self,called the phantom type ideology. The reason why it is called phantom type that its secret is hided in the operating mode:the signifier is a significant concept in the Lacanian Psychoanalysis Theory, but it isn’t totally accordant with the signified. The signifier without the signified is the master signifier. The ideology starts operating and maintains its identity through the master signifier quilting every elements floating in the space of ideology.The split subject caused ego through the unconscious imaginary identification. Ego can form into ego-ideal by identifying the law of father(the name of father, also called the Other, the social symbolic order) and become the host of ideology; nevertheless the contradiction of identification and the fracture of symbolic mandate would make the subject restless. Because the desire coming from need and demand of speech made the subject to query the Other,which is a division or crack. At the meantime, fantasy arised. The fantasy of ideology constructed the social reality, covered the social antagonism and veiled the consistency of the Other. The subject thoroughly failed at the feet of ideology, worthy the name of ideological subject.The core of Zizek’s ideology theory is ideological fantasy and the way of ideology criticism is going through the ideological fantasy:identifying the symptom and ethics insisting the drive, hysterically taking the act of Real. In author’s opinion, Zizek’s ideology is the return of Marxism from the view of ideology criticism Act has. The Act mentioned is not only at the theoretical level, but inheriting Lacan’s Real and overturning the symbolic order. The Act is political and revolutional.The author, analyzing the relationship between present Zizek’s theory and Marxism, boldly thinks it’s orientation answers the call of Marxism, criticizes capitalism and it is worthy of the spirit of Marxism.
