ObjectiveThis study regards female students from medical school as the research object inPuYang city to analyze the characteristics of female students’ mental health. Toinvestigate the relationship of hardiness, social support and mental health, combiningwith the results of the analysis to discuss effective intervention measures whichimprove female students’ mental health, and provide suggestions for schooladministrators to improve the students’ mental health level.Methods587female students were selected by cluster random sampling in Puyang city ofthe Henan province; we established a data with Epidata3.0and used SPSS21.0toanalyze the data. Independent-Samples T Test and One-way ANOVA was adopted insingle factor analysis, and Partial Correlations and Linear Regression was adopted foranalyzing the relationship of influencing factors and mental health, inspectionstandard a=0.05.ResultsFemale students from medical school was significantly lower than the nationalyouth norm; the difference of every dimension was statistically significant. Theoverall detection rate of female students’ mental health is16.8%, all dimensions fromhigh to low in turn for: forced symptoms, interpersonal relationships, hostile,paranoid, depression, terror, anxiety, psychotics and somatoform disorders.Themental health level of different demographic characteristics has no difference. Thedifference is statistically significant in different professional, grade and take care ofpeople before the age of ten(P<0.05).The hardiness of different demographiccharacteristics was statistically significant in different professional, grade, residence,take care of people before the age of ten, father’s educated degree, and specialtysatisfaction(P<0.05). The social support of different demographic characteristics wasstatistically significant indifferent residence, whether one-child family, father’s educated degree, mother’s educated degree, mother’s occupation and specialtysatisfaction(P<0.05).Hardiness and social support are negatively related to mentalhealth. Multiple linear regressions showed that investment, objective support, andsubjective support have greater influence on the mental health.ConclusionThe female students of mental health score higher than students in a MedicalCollege. Mental health level of different demographic characteristics has difference,itis mental health guidance according to the different characteristics of school femalestudents Hardiness and social support have a significant correlation with femalestudents’ mental health of this school, That hardiness and social support are importantfactors to affect mental health.
