Family photography means that the home environment and the situation of the family members arerecorded by the domestic one using camera via being reserved by some models. It contains the wholesubjects and objects who join in the activities, and begins to construct the social identities, classes andinterests of the family members,which have the value of society and culture.The writer confines the era from the Reform and Open policy to the present time which last thirtyyears. Furthermore, family photography is divided into three parts including the era of photo studio,homecamera and individual camera apparatus by the development and cover extent of the family photography.In the era of photo studio, the writer emphasizes the political characters of the family photographywhich affect the activities and thinking models of family members. Secondly, in the era of the home camera,the writer focuses on the rise of the culture of national consumption and how the family photographyreflects the culture. Thirdly, in the era of individual camera apparatus, it concerns the change of the familystructure, excessive dependence on image, how the new family photography memory storage does affectdomestic memory. Finally, the writer tries to discuss the possibilities which is the cradle of the modern artsand creative instinct in the name of the family photography.
