This essay is a report of an E-C consecutive interpreting practice for theAssociation for International Sport for All (TAFISA) Certified Leadership Courses(CLCs) and on this basis, explores into information reorganization throughnote-taking. During this practice, the author served as the interpreter for the lecturers--the Secretary General of ASFAA (ASIANIA SPORTS FOR ALL ASSOCIATION)and Vice President of ASFAA. Hosted by TAFISA, the four-day program wasorganized for the leaders of sports from China, South Korea, the Philippines, India,Malaysia, and Qatar and so forth.After finishing the task, the author reflected on her puzzles and difficulties andtried to draw lessons from practice. On the basis of the interpretive theory, this paperanalyzes some typical cases in the whole practice which was videotaped, and thenreviews and summarizes the problems in reorganizing information throughnote-taking. Then the author, in the hope of helping more learners of interpreting toimprove their analytical listening and note-taking efficiency, put forward someproposals on how to reproduce what the speaker has said in its original logic byreorganizing information framework on the notes taken during interpreting. |
