Verbal classifier complement of Chinese language is a rather unique languageform for Madgascar students and they make various mistakes on application of verbalclassifier complements. This paper is based upon teaching syllabus of graduatestudents in Institut Confucious de I’Université d’Antananarivo and contents of verbalclassifier involved in Chinese Language Level Test Syllabus, and it refers to thearticle of Mr Shao Jingmin,“semantic analysis of verbal classifiers and selectionrelationship with verbs” to define the range of verbal classifiers and classificationstandards of verbal complement forms to determine the range of surveyquestionnaires.Survey questionnaires and conversations are carried out between teachers andstudents of Class Two and Class Three graduates in Institut Confucious deI’Université d’Antananarivo, to sufficiently get knowledge of common errors andmistakes for Madagascar students in learning or acquiring verbal classifercomplements of Chinese Language. The diagnosis and reasons of errors and mistakesare summarized by language comparison and contrast analysis. According to verbalclassifier categorization and rules of verb-classifier combination, integrated with theacception level and causes of errors and mistakes of the Madagascar students, thispaper proposed systematic teaching strategies and solutions to prevent errors andmistakes from multiple perspectives of teaching sequence, teaching methods andetc.The paper works to offer a reference materiel for teaching Madagascar studentsverbal classifiers of Chinese language, so as to decrease the difficulty for them inlearning verbal classifiers of Chinese language and to enhance the accuracy andvividity on application of verbal classifiers of Chinese Language.The paper consists of five parts. The introduction covers the researchsignificance, theoretical foundations, research approach, research objects, languagesources, and summary of relevant research achievements. The first chapter of surveysketches the acquisition overalls of Madagascar students to learn verbal classifiers ofChinese Language. The second chapter summarizes the overall errors and mistakesof Madagascar students as well as concerning diagnosed reasons in acquiring verbalclassifier complements. The third chapter proposes workable teaching strategies andsolutions to the students’ errors and mistakes. The fourth chapter is the conclusion.
