A Research Within The Foul Word Of Nanning-style Cantonese

The foul word is a linguistic phenomenon in daily life which isinfluential. It is an integral part of the vocabulary system; it is also a vividreflection on the culture. In recent years, the foul word of Chineselanguage, whose achievements have been obtained, is focused on andresearched in the field of Chinese language while the researches withinthe foul word of the Chinese dialect are being launched.Nanning-style Cantonese is a sub-dialect of Cantonese dialect, whoseresearches are concerned with the voice, the vocabulary and the grammar.However, the foul word of Nanning-style Cantonese is not concernedenough, which is the reflection on the culture of Nanning.This paper, whose research object is the foul word of Nanning-styleCantonese, is divided into five parts besides the introduction and theconclusion. In Part I, the definition of the foul word is given, and theconception of the foul word is assured. Some words and expressions ofthe foul word system, which are representative in Nanning-style Cantonese, are discoursed in Part II, whose contents are the parts ofspeech, the classification, the definitions and the formation. The featuresof the foul word of Nanning-style Cantonese are analyzed in Part III, asthe causes of the foul word are investigated in Part IV. In Part V, thecultural connotation of the foul word of Nanning-style Cantonese isdeeply analyzed.
