Frederic Jameson is a famous American left-wing theorist, is a representative figure inthe field of postmodernism culture research. In Jameson’s criticism theory, the analysis of the narrativeespecially has a strong cultural studies color. This not only shows Jameson’s broad researchfield of vision and the innovative spirit of advancing with the times, but also shows thereflection and transcendence of the traditional narrative theory and structuralism narrative. It not only provides a new research idea for scholars, but also develops a new space forthe narrative theory.Jameson creatively using the vision of cultural studies to explore the narrative theoryand cultural text, through analyzing the psychological, political, social and culturalanalysis, observes the narrative of the society, ideology, national symbolic fable. Jamesonextending the external study of the text and paying more attention to the text of theformation and operation mechanism, explores the narrative behind the social, historical, cultural, political and other factors. As a social symbolic act of narrative, narrative is a harmonic mechanism which thesocial reality and the contradiction presents in the text, and is the pure form solution, symbolic and fabled. Through the symbol mechanism, subtext hides ideologicalcontradictions to represent utopia. As a kind of ideology narration, it highlights the valuebehind the narrative tendency, namely to reveal political aspirations, social reality, orconflict hidden in text or narrative of social symbolic act. As a national fable narration ofthe third world, Jameson borrows from text to carrying forward the culture of the thirdworld, and searchs for the third world nation’s political future and the future developmentto criticize the lack of human nature and the value of reverse and social chaos in the thewestern post-modern society.Jameson on the detailed interpretation of French literature, film and third worldliterary text observes the ideological connotation and utopia color behind the narrative.Jameson observes from Freud’s concept of “unconscious” the unconscious is a realideology, by means of the narrative text and cultural text it reflects the deep ideologybehind the text. He not only focuses on the western literature and culture, but also pays close attention to the fate and the development of “third world” nations and country. In thedeep fracture of the “third world” and the “first world”,“fable” is a hope for the subject ofintellectuals.
