The Protection And Utilization Research Of Wu Culture In Suzhou Ancient Villages

The ancient villages are the microcosms of Chinese rural society; they are theimportant components of national culture heritage. With the development of theurbanization and economic marketization in our country, the traditional culture cultivatedin the ancient villages is under the threat of variation and vanish. Therefore, the protectionand utilization research of ancient villages are becoming extremely urgent. The ancientvillages in Suzhou have a long history, whose culture resources are abundant; they clusteralong the Lake Tai and have a rich research value; therefore, this paper has selected theancient villages in Suzhou as the research subject. The purpose of this paper is to discussthe protection of ancient villages’ culture and the ways of utilization.First of all, this paper discusses the characteristics and connotations of Wu culture inancient villages of Suzhou, it gives a general deconstruction review of the culture genegenealogy in ancient villages and define the core value of Wu culture in ancient villages; italso analyzes the protection and utilization meanings of the ancient village culture.Secondly, this paper elaborates the ways of culture protection of Suzhou ancientvillages from the regional culture space of macro level, the single ancient village ofmedium measure and the architectural culture, folk culture and living system of microlevel; this paper also gives a discussion about the utilization of the core values oflandscape environment, architectural culture, folk culture, diet culture and living systemfrom the perspectives of tourism development, industrial development and projectconstruction.Finally, this paper proposes the safeguards measures for the protection and utilizationof ancient villages’ culture of Suzhou and conducts the discussions from the aspects ofpolicy safeguards, fund guarantee and the participation of villagers; it proposes themultiple safeguard measures including the overall control, multiple management,multi-channel financing and the perfect of villager participation.
