The Peculiarities Of Post-disaster Orphans’Personality, Self-awareness And Self-respect And The Relation Among Them

A lot of studies have shown that earthquakes affect people’s bodies and mentalfor a long time. Compared with adults, earthquakes are likely to cause seriousinfluence to teenagers. Post-disaster orphans are likely to have more unstable mood,and it takes a longer time to recover their psychological trauma without families andsupports. Therefore, researches and studies about post-disaster orphans’ psychologicalconditions are very important.This study is about post-disaster orphans’ personality, self-awareness andself-respect in Yushu. It uses EPQ, PHCSS and RSES to learn psychologicalconditions of267post-disaster orphans and SPSS to analysis data. Results showedthat:1.In personality part, gender difference has affected the score of Pscale(P<0.05),and it has not affected the scores of E,N and L scale(P>0.05).Gradedifference has affected the scores of P,E,N and L scale(P<0.05).2.In self-awareness part, gender difference has affected the score of affiliationscale(P<0.05),and it has not affected the total points and other scales(P>0.05). Gradedifference has affected the scores of total points and other scales (P<0.05).3.In self-respect part, gender difference has not affected totalpoints(P>0.05).Grade4has significant difference with grade5,grade6and grade8ondifferent levels.4.Post-disaster orphans’ EPQ-E,EPQ-L and self-respect have significant positivepredicted function on self-awareness. Post-disaster orphans’ EPQ-N has significantnegative predicted function on self-awareness. Post-disaster orphans’ self-awarenesshas significant positive predicted function on self-respect. Post-disaster orphans’gender has significant negative predicted function on self-respect.
