Hani Terrace in China was officially inscribed on the World Heritage List in2013, reflecting theprotection achievement of Chinese agricultural heritage, and indicating the developmentdirection for Chinese agricultural heritage career in the future. Unlike other agriculturalheritage protection, agricultural heritage protection is a living form which needs guidingafter the dynamic protective philosophy of taking local farmers as the main body. However,the rapid development of modern industry makes a large number of rural is faced with theproblem of "empty villages", no one farming becomes the greatest threat to agriculturalculture heritage protection.As one of three Chinese ancient terraces, Zi Que Jie terrace is not only a fusion of southern riceculture and fishing and hunting culture of the Miao and Yao, but also the important agricultural heritagein China. According to present protection situation and the threat of agricultural heritage, taking thetypical Zi Que Jie terrace for case study, this paper points to the “empty villages”, bases on the localresidents, explores the “people—oriented” agricultural and cultural heritage protection from theperspective of place attachment. This paper divides the residents place attachment in Zi Que Jie terraceinto four groups and respectively analysis agricultural culture heritage protection of these four clustergroups. The study found that: firstly, different population characteristics will lead to significantdifference of residents’ place attachment in Zi Que Jie terrace. Secondly, residents’ place attachmentdegree in Zi Que Jie terrace is relatively high. Thirdly, the four groups of place attachment existssignificant differences in three dimensions of agricultural cultural heritage protection of cognition,emotion and behavior. Fourthly, residents living time length in Zi Que Jie terrace has positive influenceon the degree of place attachment which is positive to the emotional dimension of agricultural cultureheritage protection. Finally, this article puts forwards protection countermeasures for local agriculturalculture heritage through the analysis of the influence degree of residents in Zi Que Jie terrace to theagricultural culture heritage protection.
