Multi-Angle Research On The Structure Of "A Ye Dei X, Bu A Ye Dei X"

This paper based on a large amount of corpus and we made the multi-angleresearch on the unconditional structure "A ye dei X, bu A ye dei X" with the main useof Construction Grammar from the syntactic, semantic and pragmatic perspective.The author employs a lot of research methods and combines them together: such asdeductive and inductive, descriptive and explanative, qualitative and quantitative togather up corpus, in order to achieve a comprehensive analysis on this structure.First, this paper has determined the structure "A ye dei X, bu A ye dei X" insyntax, the structure is considered as "unconditional bias lift structure", thensummarizes six other similar forms (brief form, omission form, interchange form,flip-over form, volitive-intended form and doer-intended form) except for the fullform "A ye dei X, bu A ye dei X". Second, this paper makes a micro-analysis on thisstructure in detail from these three aspects: the relationship, nature and syllable formof variable A and X; Last, the paper discovers that the structure "A ye dei X, bu A yedei X" not only can act as syntax component (such as predicate, object, attribute) andminor sentence which contained in long sentence, and also can be sentence alone, butthe most common case is being predicate.We analyze semantic from two aspects: semantic features of the sentencecomponents and the whole sentence format; The aspect of semantic features: we thinkconstant term "ye" has the semantic feature of [+similar][+euphemism], constantterm "dei" has semantic features of [+compulsory],[+stressed]; there have to appear aword with the feature of verb in variable term "A" or variable term "X" at least, andthat most of this words have [+dynamic][+autonomy] semantic features; on the aspectof semantic features of whole sentence format, the final analysis show that "A ye deiX, bu A ye dei X" structure have the semantic generality of "the result X won’t bechange in any situation"and some inner-semantic relation.Pragmatic aspects of "A ye dei X, bu A ye dei X" structure mainly reflect thepragmatic features of colloquialism and subjectivity. Among them, we verified thecolloquialism feature from three aspects: corpus sources, variant forms and relevantformat; the subjective characteristics mainly perform by the behaviors with appliedcommand, feeling helpless and stressed indirect speech.
