| Under the background of our country vigorously promoting the developmentof cultural industry, the development of traditional craft industry has attracted moreand more attention from the government and the market. Sincethe inception of the new century, the strong market demand has accelerated therapid development of nut-carving industry of Suzhou and the continually expandingscale. However, the development of Suzhou nut-carving industry encounters a seriesof problems, which restrict its own development. Domestic and overseas theoriesand practices on the nut-carving industry is less, and related research is mainlylimited to the study of traditional craft industry. Therefore it is necessary toanalyze and research the present situation and existing problems of nut-carvingindustry of Suzhou, and explore its development strategy. Based on fieldinvestigations and interviews and with reference to the theory of industrialcluster, industrial value chain and cultural industry, this study constructs atheoretical framework of the nut-carving industry development combined with itsactual development.This study puts forward the development strategy of nut-carving industry fromthree aspects of industrial development strategy, industrial space and industrialdevelopment supporting system. First is to upgrade the industrial value chain, speedup the industrial cluster development, adjust product structure, alter managementconcept and set up the brand consciousness. Secondly, from the angle of theindustrial space, by studying the spatial distribution characteristic of nut-carvingindustry of Suzhou, the study points out the problems existing in the industrial space,and puts forward the optimization of the improvement scheme of nut-carvingindustrial spatial layout. Thirdly, from the angle of the industry supporting system,this study proposes that the development of nut-carving industry needs to constructthe industry supporting platform and the soft environment of the nut-carvingindustry. |
