With the growing demand for overseas Chinese teachers, training outstandingChinese teachers has become an important task for overseas Chinese education. Inorder to meet the needs of these teachers, Jinan University piloted the first ChineseEducation Program. Developing this program to better serve the schools overseas is aproblem that we are trying hard to solve.Practice teaching is not only the most important way to test learning outcomes,but also has an important effect on developing career awareness for ChineseLanguage Teachers. Therefore, understanding the practicum situation of students fromthe Chinese Education Program has significant practical value.In this paper, it analyzes the questionnaire responses from undergraduatestudents of the Chinese Education program at Jinan University and their overseasteachers. Through analyzing the students’ preparation for their practicum, theirpracticum performance evaluations, personal feedback of their practicum, and theChinese education situation of the schools where they held their teaching practicum,this paper examines the problems from their practicum arrangements and providesrecommendations aimed at solving these problems.
