With the rapid development of Chinese economy and the continuous improvement of international standing of China in recent years, business Chinese becomes to be the most studied Chinese for specific purpose in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Compared to the ordinary Chinese teaching to overseas language students, business Chinese teaching to foreign businessmen has its own particularity. Business Chinese is a language for specific purpose. Its course content is decided by the target, while the target lies on the learner’s needs.This article focuses overseas businessmen’s Chinese acquisition and using with the object of business communication. Firstly, it briefly introduces the results of the questionnaires which are done to overseas businessmen, then analyze and summarize the down-to-earth teaching content, the learner’s true needs, learning difficulties and the imbalanced development in linguistic skills when the overseas businessmen make communication in Chinese. Finally, recommendations will be given as well as a new designed curriculum for overseas businessmen to learning Business Chinese based on the above results and summary. The design stresses practical activity, timely content and individuation principal. Some constructive suggestions on business Chinese teaching materials and teaching evaluation ways are presented as well in the design.This article starts with the learner’s motivation and needs, adopts the research method of combining problem analysis and improvement approach and probes into the normal problems widely existing in non-academic education in teaching business Chinese. It is expected to be a good example for the Chinese teaching in other non-academic education for overseas students.
