Research On The Exegesis Of Yili Xiaoshu By Shen Tong

Yili is one of the thirteen classics of Confucianism.It is a collection of etiquettes during Spring and Autumn period and Warring States Period.It records ancient Chinese etiquettes,including crown,marriage,funeral,sacrifice,township,shooting and so on.In Qing Dynasty,Shen Tong had a deep dive in the study of Yili,and his book Yili Xiaoshu was an important work on the study of Yili in Qing Dynasty.Shen Tong has written a lot in his life.Although the predecessors have dabbled in Shen Tong's works,they paid little attention to his Yili Xiaoshu,especially from the perspective of exegetics.In order to make up for this defect,on the basis of reading Yili Xiaoshu repeatedly,we have made a preliminary discussion on its Exegesis content,method,terminology and academic evaluation.The thesis is divided into following five parts:The first chapter is the introduction,it mainly introduces Shen Tong's life and the relevant situation of Yili Xiaoshu,and analyzes the research status of Yili Xiaoshu,as well as the research methods and significance of the study.The second chapter mainly summarizes the exegetical content of Yili Xiaoshu,which is divided into five categories:analysis of sentences and sentences,interpretation of word meaning,interpretation of text meaning,textual research of the name and description of a thing or ritual system,collation of text.The third chapter explores the exegetical methods of Yili Xiaoshu.There are five main methods,namely analyzing the sound form for the meaning of words,mutual identification between group books for the meaning of words,using dialects and common sayings for the meaning of words,according to culture and life customs for the meaning of words,and depending on the specific context to analyze the meaning of words.The fourth chapter analyzes the exegetical terms in Yili Xiaoshu,which are divided into three categories,one is the explanatory terms,the other is the phonetic terms,the third is the exegetical collation terms.Among them,exegetical terms are most widely used.The fifth chapter is comments on the Exegesis of Yili Xiaoshu.It specifically analyzes two characteristics of the opus.One is that it is based on abundant quotations,the other is that it is full of doubts about Mr.Ao and it praises Zhen Xuan highly.In addition,it also explores the shortcomings of the opus,that is,some examples have insufficient evidence or not in line with the ritual system.Finally,it discusses the contribution of the opus to the study of Yili and Qian-Jia.
