A Report On The Translation Of The Construction Feasibility Report Of The Public Security Bureau Of Dali Prefecture

This is a translation report on the construction feasibility report of the Police Affairs andTechnology Building of the Public Security Bureau of Dali Prefecture. The difficulties oftranslating the report lie in the translation of charts, organization names, professionalterminologies and long sentences. In the process of translation, with the guidance of theprinciples of the theory of translation ecology and functional equivalence etc., differenttranslation methods, such as literal translation, nominalization, voice conversion etc., are used tosolve the problems in order to be faithful to the source text.The report consists of five parts. Part1is an introduction of the translation project. Inpart2, the translation process is introduced, including the preparations needed for the translation.Part3introduces the difficulties arising in the process of translation. Part4focuses on translationtheory and principles adopted in the process of translation as well as the translation methods.Part5summarizes the experiences gained from the translation project and problems to be solvedin the future.
