The book Reform and Development of Old-age Security System in China is the“Classic China International Publishing Project” in 2019.The purpose of this project is to introduce “Chinese Wisdom”,“Chinese Attitude”,“Chinese Plans”,and “Chinese Solutions” to international community through translation of Chinese classic works.The report is a translation practice is written after the implementation of the project Reform and Development of Old-age Security System in China(Chapter One&Two).The translation project is an Chinese-English translation project and the source text is the publicity text of China's policy to the outside world and its language style is professional and informative.This translation project comes from the supervisor's project,which is a C-E translation program of “Reform and Development of Old-age Security System in China,” entrusted by Economic Science Press.This project can help translators ponder over the significance of combining translation with practical requirements and jointly promote the development of translation work in the new era.The report first introduces the background information,project description,significance of the project,and report structure.Then,it systematically describes the translation process,including translation preparation,tools used in the translation process,and the quality control in post-translation.Thirdly,under the guidance of the theory of function plus loyalty,the third chapter,namely the main part,analyzes the main difficulties encountered in the translation process from the lexical,syntactic and textual level in combination with specific cases.Finally,the author summarizes the translation process.Accumulate experience from the translation practice,sum up inadequacy,and lay the foundation for the successful completion of subsequent translation tasks.This translation and report writing deepen the translator's understanding of the translation of such texts,provide reference for the future translation concerning the reform and development of China's old-age security system,translation practice,research of similar texts,and help to promote foreign readers' understanding of China's old-age security system.
