The cultural industry is recognized as one of the most potential industries all over the world in thetwenty-first century, and it is closely related to economic growth. Many foreign scholars have studiedthe promotion effect of cultural industries to economic growth at the level of data and the level of theinternal mechanism, but the study is less involved in the impact of economic growth on the culturalindustries. Moreover, domestic scholars mostly focus on the normative research and qualitative analysis, but less on the quantitative analysis and specific province research. Shandong province is chosen as ourstudy object for its strong economic strength and long cultural history which have providedadvantageous conditions to the development of cultural industries.Based on the literature research method, by collecting the relevant literature about the relationshipbetween cultural industries and the economic growth, foreign and domestic research and problems wereanalyzed. Meanwhile, it was found by literature research that the data of qualitative research was mainlyfrom foreign countries, so the conclusions may not be suitable for developing countries such as China;however, only a little domestic relevant research was involved in quantitative analysis. Here in thethesis, qualitative and quantitative analysis were used to study the influence of cultural industries toeconomic growth, as well as the impact of economic growth on the cultural industries. In the thesis indicators were selected firstly, Shandong’s economic growth level was described byShandong’s GDP, and Shandong’s cultural industry development was represented by8cultural relevantindicators. Then, growth models and time-series data were used to establish economic model to studythe relationship between the economic growth and cultural industries in Shandong. It is concluded thatthe main indicator is the added value of cultural industry, when cultural industry value increased by1million, it can spur economic growth by11.4million approximately; economic growth has a significantimpact on cultural operating expenses, but only a little effect on the number of employed persons ofcultural industries. Finally, based on research conclusion and actual development conditions inShandong province, feasible policy recommendations were proposed.
